(Saturday, 05/02/2011)

Weather: very nice / Temp: 18 degrees / Wind: have 3 to 5 HE

Trudel and Willi us with their car for a day trip to the Parque Natural Sierra Espuña "invited. We go early going at nine clock. The park is located about 35 km southwest of the capital, "Murcia". The highest peak is located at 1583 m and offers a magnificent view.

First we drive via "Totana" to the "Ermita de Santa Eulalia," a place of pilgrimage with an interesting church. With a pretty round about take the first short stop.

The Sanctuary Resort is located on a mountain saddle. The church, with the underlying garden is nestled beautifully in the landscape.

Inside the church is a true jewel with many paintings and an ornate wooden ceiling.

The organ is worth seeing.

one place of pilgrimage to the Cross Jesus with twelve stations.

The view of the plains "Murcia" in many enveloped by plastic plantations and the smoking waste fuel pile is a matter of taste or smell thing ;-)

Even from afar, we see us next target the fortified village of Aledo with the towering castle tower.

The village is located on a rocky spur which descends steeply on three sides.

We walk through the typical English village to the church with the towering castle tower.

course, we climb the castle tower to enjoy the magnificent views.

Our next destination, the "Monte Espuña" is within reach of us.

We still have a long way to go, starting with the driveway to the "Parque Natural Sierra Espuña. By cacti and almond trees we drive to the foot of the park.

Before we take the increase in attack we do at the only restaurant on the road a short lunch stop.

Take starched stomach we continue our goal of always our eyes.

We are now located in the coniferous forest and can the vast land of "Murcia" overlook.

see the blue haze of distance, we have a more unknown village, built on a hill.

Rocks piled up in front of us. The road winds elegantly around the "Monte Espuña.

We are now at about 1400 meters above sea level and continue through the first snow fields.

The tree line is now among us. There is only sparse shrubs and spinifex between the robust.

Above we see the military radar installations.

And finally we have reached the mountain top.

Unfortunately, the distance vision today is not the best. The landscape around us is in the blue haze.

the way back we choose the road over the romantic village of El Berro. Nestled in fragrant almond and apricot trees, one can enjoy cozy "Fincas" from the great view of the valley.

boars we have unfortunately not made the move, however, goat herds.

The animals are very curious and not at all camera shy.

We take a trip to the "Outback" and promptly lost our way in the drawn soil erosion moon.

by lemon groves, we drive the same route back again ;-) Fortunately, it has long been no rain so the ground has become hard and we are without all-wheel drive find back to the main road.

One last look at the lunar landscape and we are once again reached the valley floor.

After the village of Alhama de Murcia "we follow the highway to" Cartagena "to the" La Manga "and connect to the home. The trip by Trudel and William was a great experience with fascinating, interesting landscapes.

would be even worth mentioning the sad fact for us something that has blown in the afternoon at the pirate bay is a decent wind surf with 3 to 5 letter from the South. Sorry we missed this great wind, Wind Guru since neither nor Windfinder for the day one had predicted such. We have to wait at least a week to wind surf.

Weather: very nice / Temp: 16 degrees / Wind: are 2 to 3 HE

Today's a bit of wind surfing, but only a little :-) Full of expectations we go with our surfboards for three clock on the water. But unfortunately the wind dies down after a half hour off, and all surfers steer back to the land.

ground fog at the "Mar Menor" a rare phenomenon. But this morning we can see the boats in the harbor before the camp any more.

penetrate the first rays of morning fog soup only with difficulty.

We take our scooter again to the shopping center north of Cartagena.

On the way back blowing towards us a tight head wind. But the anticipation is to wind surfing in vain. As we look around at the beach, is only "Major Tom" in the rigging and all the others just look interested.

The wind from the southeast is too weak. Since we prefer to drink a cappuccino on the beach terrace :-)

Places are now well established as the "Line Dance Group is keen on practicing and also in the" Mirador restaurant "to the" Hobby Market "takes place.

Camping at Mar Menor (E) (Thursday, 2/10/2011)
Weather: beautiful / Temp: 16 degrees / Wind: 1 letter (O)

A tranquil day off without incident before us. During our walk along the coast to the "Mar de Cristal" we meet many harbingers of the approaching spring, such as this blooming thyme.

But other plants reach up to the warming sun.

At the end of pirate bay on exposed area is a distinctive country estate with stunning views over the Mar Menor and La Manga ", which we windsurfing always in view and we have to align them.

After a quick lunch at the Café Arena "you go back to the campsite.

trip to Port Tomás Maestre (E) (Friday, 11/02/2011)

A navigable channel connects here the "Mar Menor and the Mediterranean. The stately entrance suggests, that lie behind it but a few million hidden in boat values.

is our first time at this port and marvel at its size.

We walk past many restaurants to the channel where we see the drawbridge this time from the other side.

is the yacht club building is also a pretty terrace, built in similar style as the "Restaurant / Café Paquebote.

The ferry to Santiago de la Ribera (left) crosses from this port for the "Mar Menor".

A few "tapas" with café we take for granted in our favorite to come back "Restaurant / Cafe Paquebote" one :-)

When we camp, blowing from the southeast are a surf worthy wind over the pirate bay. Winfried and Tom already on the water. I try to share my happiness and haste with my big surf equipment to the beach. Unfortunately, the wind direction not ideal, because several upstream Hill complicate the passage of the southeast wind. After half an hour I give to disillusioned. Twind same from the southwest, we are likely to receive until Sunday afternoon.

A delicious pizza, baked in our ball grill and a "Insalata Caprese", we have earned nevertheless ;-)
