Camping at Mar Menor (E) (Saturday, 01/22/2011)
Weather: very nice / Temp: 11 degrees / Wind: 1 letter
beautiful, but bitter cold we are greeted the new day. We have made in the cloudless night, a temperature jump by 10 degrees down and measure only 1 degree. The cold air flow from the north has for us, alas, also.
The sun torments himself with difficulty on the horizon. More than 10 degrees plus, we are now achieving well in spite of sunshine.
From the windsurfing is unfortunately nothing. Instead of the predicted 3-4 HE, there is only 1 letter :-(

Weather: sunny, cloudy, rainy / Temp: 10 degrees / wind 5 to 6 HE
Strong winds from the northeast, a Mix of clouds, sun and occasional rain showers dominate the weather picture today. There are also 10 degrees in winter air temperature. As a dog chases you out of the house, let alone a wind surfer on the water, one would think ;-)
But this is far from being. Dressed up with everything so expect the surf box again urge the stalwarts foaming "Mar Menor".
Franz, Keith, Mel and Alain fight bravely through the cold waters of the "Pirate Bay".
And some riders are not put off by the harsh weather.
We comply meanwhile back and watch the bustle of the heated veranda of the beach restaurants. A English group of riders just makes us stop and verwärmt at a hot coffee.
We do it ourselves now in cozy, warm "Elchi" comfortable and lay back times a Computer-/Lesetag one :-)

Weather: Cloudy to overcast / Temp: 12 degrees / Wind: 5-7 HE
Also today, the same drama as yesterday: clouds, rain and sunshine, alternate, and also a strong wind blowing from the northeast over the "Mar Menor". This relates to a low pressure area centered between Morocco and Portugal, which is unfortunately hardly moves.
We are now in the border zone. So we will have to live in the coming days with the bad weather.
It's a real shame that we do not use the great surf wind. At the surf beach and on the "Mar Menor", there is still a gaping void in the morning.

is the afternoon, despite the harsh conditions, again some Undaunted, Francis, Keith, Derek and Dave, who want to enjoy the great wind.
The wind is blowing now with 6 to 7 HE, so that they are equipped with the 4.2 to 5.0 m2 sail quickly on your way.
We now enjoy the "paella" (on Monday is paella day) and look through the protective screen porch.
guests who would 5 years ago and have been here earlier, hard to believe that winter is on the "Mar Menor" has become so rough. The climate has also changed apparently. The Spaniards will wear warm and insulate better future, especially their homes and heating systems must equip with.

Weather: Cloudy to overcast / Temp: 13 degrees / Wind: 3 to 5 HE
During the morning the wind dies down gradually from 5 to 3 HE. In this cool weather it's worth it to go almost to the water. If freeze already, then at least with a small sail and board ;-)
Even today it can not take a few bob unswervingly and with relatively large sailing in the "Pirate Bay" around.
the late afternoon we drive back nine of times to eat ham shack at the gas station initially "Los Alcazares tapas :-)
particular, the ham, but the other tapas taste here is excellent.
We enjoy the English ambience, even if it together with the many guests, the current TV and radio still sincere and down to go ;-)
pretty noisy in the restaurant on the campsite are right particularly in the sections PQ and GH many guests who windsurf. Accordingly, many flags to indicate the desired wind, so yes you do not miss anything. Which of the nine "wind direction sensors is perhaps the most beautiful?

The clouds of the last days forgiven now in the Murcian mountains.
Finally it is sunny again. For this purpose a decent wind surf with 3 to 5 letter from the East.
Willi now plays the "guinea pig".
At twelve clock we also mix in the surf ends in the "Pirate Bay". A full three hours we glide over the "Mar Menor" and have fun again, not least because of the sunny weather and rising temperatures. We reach at least the 14 degree mark.

Weather: Rain / Temp: 12 degrees / Wind: 3 to 6 HE
By yesterday evening it has started raining and rained all night easily. Also in the morning We will get the bad weather and the rain intensity sets in the middle of the day even more. As yet come together quite rainfall.
Although the strong wind would be absolutely worthy of surf, wind surfing for today we can even out ;-) The conditions are too rough. In the afternoon, Peter finally has a show and brought us a few sunny hours, and on top of that a beautiful rainbow.
