walk on the seamount (Cabezo de la Fuente) (E) (Monday, 01/03/2011)
Weather: very beautiful / Temp: 16 degrees / Wind: 1 to 2 HE
The most amazing views of the mountain region, "La Manga", the "Cabezo de la Fuente" is, so to speak, on our doorstep. Despite that fact that we have not yet ascended. Today's Prachtstag is perfect for a hike on the 342-meter-high seamount. We take our role after "Los Belones" and turn around in the middle of the village left. The access road crosses the highway initially and ends at the foot of the mountain water. There is also a source where the population is supplied with clean drinking water.
Our goal is middle of the Regional Park of "Calblanque", "Monte da las Cenizas" and "Peña del Águila.

For the hour ascent Good footwear is essential. The trail starts left hand side of the water body is rather rocky and sometimes quite steep. But the effort is worth it :-) During the climb, our eyes again and again by the fantastic panoramic caught.
left hand we see the extensive "Golf Club area of La Manga.
Toward the Mar Menor are the villages of Los Belones " and "Los Nietos.
And your right, we can already look "Mar de Cristal" and part of "La Manga".
The higher we climb, the more breathtaking is the panoramic view.

Los Belones "," Los Nietos, Mar de Cristal "with the deep blue" Mar Menor "and the peninsula of La Manga" lie to us feet.
In the distance to the north, we can also see "Los Urrutias" with the mountains of the hinterland of "Murcia".
We are now well beyond the golf course area of La Manga. This thirst of this year more for water, agriculture than the surrounding area.
Total nestles in the lovely rolling landscape of the upper part of the golf club village.
The following view shows the entire golf club grounds. click to enlarge

on the Mediterranean side, we now have an enchanting view of "Calblanque" with the salt flats.
And then finally presented to us the ultimate Panorama from the summit of Cabezo de la Fuente. With the clarity of today's air an absolutely breathtaking sight.

In the south we can look far beyond the city of "Cartagena".
Because of the clear air conditions it even possible in the north to well beyond "Torrevieja".
only slightly by a hill in the foreground overlooking our campsite, we also covered with "Playa Honda and "La Manga".
Despite hills upstream, we can also look "Cabo de Palos with its distinctive lighthouse.
We can hardly get enough.
The descent via the same route is rapid, so that we are already half an hour back to our scooters.
We have our first ascent of the ultimate beautiful day :-) caught
cycling to Mar de Cristal and Los Nietos (E)
(Tuesday, 04/01/2011)
Weather: beautiful and funny / Temp: 17 degrees / Wind: 1 to 3 HE
It was good that we have made our trip up the mountain of water yesterday, because this afternoon, the blue sky of high Cirrenwolken veiled. With our bikes, we ride along the banks via the "Mar de Cristal" to "Los Nietos.
The palm trees along the beach promenade, look here natural state of (some would say less maintained ;-)
This is probably a question of money, because in poorer Los Nietos "there is no Palm Avenue, for a beautiful boat house a large boat harbor.
The route between the two agglomerations is nicely laid out.
Photos of the day: Finally Windsurfing :-)
(even with 9.8 m2 sails)
or sailing with a 49-plus he Spinnaker ( 49 m2) ;-)

windsurfing on Mar Menor (E) (Thursday, 1/6/2011)
Weather: very nice / Temp: 19 degrees / Wind: 3 to 4 HE
Today is a wonderful mild day with almost 20 degrees air temperature. First, it provides for windsurfing or from mau. William brings his 9.2 m2 sail just on the plane.
Also Paul has built his 7.2 m2 and try the shaky downwind from the shadow of the camp to come.
Meanwhile we sit still on the terrace of the beach restaurants and tapas (today, Thursday, two for one).
But then by about two clock turns on the wind, as predicted by Wind Guru wind and finder, so that we get great surf for the first week this year. With the 2.7 sail I am sometimes even overpowered. And tomorrow it will be even better :-)
windsurfing on Mar Menor (E) (Friday, 07/01/2011)
Weather: cloudy to beautiful / Temp: 19 degrees / Wind: had 3-4 HE
We have to go this morning at ten clock on surfing. Our "guinea pig", Keith, be available one hour heat with his 6.0 m2 alone by the Bay.
When we at eleven clock also get on the water, the wind makes the first time :-( break with far too little material bob we slightly disappointed by the bay. Windguru and Windfinder have consistently 4-5 Bf . predicted. As can be wrong? until the late afternoon's for my 7.2 m2 and 120 liter board at least a little slide Twind.
