Camping at Mar Menor (E) (Saturday, 4/12/2010)
Weather: nice / Temp: 13 degrees / Wind: 1 letter
falls after another starry night, the thermometer still lower by more than two degrees yesterday morning. At ground zero, the limit has been reached. Even our sails are now covered with a Raureifschicht.
despite the cold we pass on the terrace of the beach restaurants our morning Tai Chi exercises " and enjoy the enchanting sight of the "Mar Menor" which is bathed in the soft colors of the next day ahead.
However, without appropriate protective clothing against cold today it is really no more :-)

Camping at Mar Menor (E) (Sunday, 12/05/2010)
Weather: overcast and beautiful / Temp: 16 degrees / Wind: The 1-2 HE
From many years of camping guests said that the last November to have been the best wind surfing month, since here at " Mar Menor is surfing. " In 18 of 30 days could be surfed at sliding Twind. If you have two marginal days in October and three additional counts in December, the wind statistics are further improved. Then there are strong winds, ie 22 days from 35 days, representing a yield of wind record-breaking 63% (nearly two-thirds of the month). This we will not live well so soon.
In the course of today, the winds from north to south rotated so that will flow in the next few days warm air from Africa to Spain. For the next week, temperatures are expected to exceed 20 degrees and wind surfing to more wild 4-7 HE wants What a surfer's heart more? :-)

windsurfing on Mar Menor (E) (Monday, 12/06/2010)
Weather: covered up nicely / Temp: 22 degrees / Wind: 5 to 7 HE
Thanks to the temperature difference between the feuchtadiabatischen cooling and heating trockenadiabatischen we measure this morning early as 16 degrees. For weather experts is clear that this explanation of the thermodynamic foehn is meant, the performance by frequently in the Alpine valleys in congested locations. A similar weather phenomenon we experience here at the "Mar Menor". The currently prevailing warm, moist south-westerly winds from Africa need to fight the next four on the mountain ranges of Sierra Nevada, Sierra de Segura, Sierra de los Fiabres "and" Sierra de Baza, although much of the moisture is raining as storage precipitation (feuchtadiabatische cooling of about 0.6 degrees per 100 m). The flowing into the plains, "Murcia" winds down heat up then trockenadiabatisch (1.0 degrees per 100 m) and bring us to the föhnartigen wind and some sunshine :-)
The Sierra Nevada (English for "snowy mountain") is the way to 3'482 m, the highest mountains of the Iberian Peninsula. When the bus ride to "Málaga", during our cruise the "Canaries" and "Madeira", we were able to admire the snow-covered mountain chain, which normally bears a year from November to May, a snow cover.
What a choice, the agony Christmas market and windsurfing, so today is the thorny question?
In other words: What keen windsurfers would let fly a day with 6-7 HE wind at an air temperature of 22 degrees easy? To make it short: Anita opts for the Christmas market and I pack my little 85 liter Naish board and to the 4.7 and 4.2 m2 sail and go surfing :-)
Four hours surfing with such 'high winds require a lot from the hands.
Kindly, Anita has brought me from the Christmas market is a fine piece of cake, so I still something of delicious Christmas cookies abkriege :-)
windsurfing on Mar Menor (E) (Tuesday, 07/12/2010)
Weather: very nice / Temp: 23 degrees / Wind: is 3 to 5 HE
it hard to believe, but we have a summer night with temperatures around 20 degrees behind us . Long-term campers report that this was by 2005 the rule. Since then, the winters are here at the "Mar Menor" gradually become cooler and drier. Since this morning the wind is blowing and the sun still weak already heating strongly, we can have breakfast in the open again :-)
The wind predictions of "Wind Guru" and "Wind Finder" for today were a bit too optimistic. We can only at a moderate southwesterly wind slide for two hours with our 5.0 and 5.5 m2 sail through the bay. Actually, similar strong wind had been announced yesterday.
However, we are treated to good weather and mild temperatures, what more could you want?
windsurfing on Mar Menor (E) (Wednesday, 08/12/2010)
Weather: very nice / Temp: 24 ° C / Wind: 4 to 5 HE
Nearly five hours we spend today on great wind and pleasant temperatures (24 degrees on the water :-). With our 5.0 and 5.5 m2 sail we are making good progress. After the last three days with great Wind Surf, we absolutely need another "recovery and recreation day". Tomorrow there will be according to "Windguru" and "Wind Finder times no surf wind :-)

the end of the good day we can meet again once the restaurant "Maribel" in the "La Manga Golf Club" spoiled. We can recommend this cozy restaurant with excellent value for money with a clear conscience.

trip to Cartagena (E) ( Thursday, 09/12/2010)
Weather: very nice / Temp: 20 degrees / Wind: 1 letter
is predicted for today, since no wind surfing, we decide for a trip to Cartagena. Since we're here, we have not visited the city, but only the shopping center in the eastern port city. "Cartagena" waterfront and the downtown with the main shopping street, however, are worth seeing.
you are car-free and reserved for pedestrians, so we can enjoy our coffee in peace :-)
The main street has many renovated stylish building facades.
The varied waterfront is exceptionally impressive and draws us ever again.
Before the "Maritime Museum" is Spain's first submarine of the inventor Isaac Peral. This first submarine torpedo boat with electric motor, "El Peral", was built in 1885. With this invention, the brilliant engineer of his time was way ahead. It was never used militarily.
it is to stay along the waterfront number of inviting cafes and restaurants. However, these are open in the winter time, not all.
We prefer to enjoy the cafe on the terrace of the beach restaurants. The Mar Menor is spreading today motionless before us.
of sailing you can not speak well ;-)
windsurfing on Mar Menor (E) (Friday, 12/10/2010)
conditions covered up beautiful / Temp: 17 degrees / Wind: 3 to 4 HE
After the last great surf days we jump at the dim, dank Weather, which is offering this morning, despite a moderate wind from the northeast (3 to 4 HE) are not enthusiastically on the water. We are not alone with this attitude. The "Pirate Bay" still looks pretty much left out.
But then in the afternoon after two clock clears the clouds to gradually so that we put our little wagon surf towards the beach on the move. The next two hours we enjoy the absolutely uniform 3-4 HE wind in the bright sunshine. The day is saved :-)
