Camping in La Manga (E) (Friday, 29/10/2010)
Weather: very nice / Temp: 23 degrees / Wind: 1 to 2 HE

Windsurfing La Manga (E) (Saturday, 30/10/2010)
Weather: nice to overcast / Temp: 19 degrees / Wind 1 to 5 HE

A strong southwest flow at the bottom of a strong depression brought us a warm night. After midnight we measure about 19 degrees Celsius. This low will bring us into the next few days stormy wind, so we are finally able to use our small surfboards.

have now upgraded our wind vane with a wind sock to the wind speed and direction can still see better.

Unfortunately, the wind freshened towards evening, so we move the windsurfing to the next. Also pushes in the course of the afternoon a cloud cover of "La Manga" and it begins to rain lightly. The rain stops but not for long. Undaunted, a few do not let the evening wind surf over to remove unused and it gets dark.

Windsurfing La Manga (E) (Sunday, 31.10.2010)
Weather: cloudy to beautiful / Temp: 23 Degrees / Wind: 3 to 6 HE

A huge double low pressure system over the "Bay of Biscay" shall, in southern Spain for föhnartige wind conditions. After raining out of the central English mountains, the wind rushes from the southwest in the depths of the coastal region of "Murcia" and heats powerful. We measure three clock at night, still 20 degrees Celsius.

At three Clock, we are rudely shaken by the strong wind from sleep. Hammer gusts of over 8 HE tug at our "Elchi and out, hell breaks loose. Many have underestimated the predicted wind and lashed her things too little. We also propose a few more pegs in the concrete floor to fix our sails a little better.

morning the damage is visible. Who has not rolled up as a precautionary measure its wind barrier can, this morning sameness only evacuate together as scrap.

Even small devices cottages were upset when they are not anchored enough were.

At dawn, the whole spit is over. The sun came out again and the wind only makes a break. We are somewhat puzzled by this windy night on the beach and wondering where the promised days of wind remained 5-6 HE.

"John" today takes over the role of "guinea pig" (trial pig) and comes back just a little disappointed.

also "Keith" comes with his car in vain surfing on the beach.

We decide summarily first to the Sunday market at Cabo de Palos "to drive. In the afternoon, then again the same game this time We are also there. No matter which sailing one takes, it is now always the wrong thing.

Initially there are 3 to 4 HE

Then the wind freshened up temporarily to 5 to 6 HE. Unfortunately, the wind direction changes constantly, so will not really pay that relaxed mood Surf.

yet we left it, because tomorrow Monday is to give it again and that strong winds from the northwest, the best wind, which here in the "Pirate Bay" is factual.

What will bring us the next night? The Weathermen forecast wind of up to 7 HE The windmills on the horizon such wind speeds in stride :-)

Windsurfing La Manga (E) (Monday, 01/11/2010)
Weather : very nice / Temp: 24 degrees / wind 5 to 6 HE

To come forward to take away: Today will be for the wind surfer in the "Pirate Bay" an absolute peak day. A steady wind from the northwest at 5 to 6 and HE to pure sunshine at 24 degrees can hardly be desired.

waters at eleven clock we our boards. With 6.0 or 5.5 m2 sail we head out.

At twelve clock we go to 5.5 or 5.0 m2 and the smallest boards that we have. Outdoor has built a beautiful, long shaft. We ride on waves, jump and neck like a long time, not more. It is fun to surf in those conditions :-) Of this we have but dreamed for weeks.

After five hours on the water we surfed enough. Tomorrow there's only wind for early risers. to noon the Wind then fade completely.

Windsurfing La Manga (E) (Tuesday, 11/02/2010)
Weather: very nice / Temp: 24 ° C / Wind: 5-4 HE

A cloudless, dark blue sky arches over us and to a constant northwesterly wind blowing at 5-4 HE A godsend!

Since we are among the early birds, we are now given two hours ago great wind surfing ;-) First, we surprisingly can even surf for half an hour with the 6.0 or 5.5 m2 sail, then we change to the 7.2 and 6.0 m2 sail.

in the bay in front of the "Isla del Ciervo" the wind is blowing very strong, so I'm over there a long time pleasure.

With this ideal wind direction can be reached by a single stroke, without aufzukreuzen, in this great shallow area with a sandy bottom, which is normally used by "kiters".

be noon on the wind. Satisfied we pack our things together. There was even a dream of a surfing experience, and we were surprisingly almost alone on the water :-)

the afternoon, the wind can then completely. Like a mirror spreads the "Mar Menor" in front of us.

only equipped with a paddle surfers come from the spot.

bike tour to La Manga (E) (Wednesday, 11/03/2010)
Weather: very nice / Temp: 21 degrees / Wind: 0 to 2 HE

over lack of good weather we can not complain so far. Even today, we expect another glorious day. Clouds in the sky you look in vain.

the afternoon we take a casual bike ride to "La Manga".

choose for the Café, we now more obvious exception, a terrace restaurant, which is also very beautiful in a long bay with palm-lined promenade :-) We have our daily workload fitness by jogging and finally the "5 Tibetans" graduates.

Some use the mild autumn days are sunbathing on the Mediterranean beach.

trip to Santiago de la Ribera (E) (Thursday, 4/11/2010)
Weather: very nice / Temp: 21 degrees / Wind: 0 to 2 HE

We use the wonderful day and take the scooter to the other end of the "Mar Menor". Always impressive, the stylish, homely architecture in the area. The architects in our home by way of comparison rather unimaginative.

At the northern end of the Mar Menor is our goal, the city of Santiago de la Ribera. From there you can see the tip of the peninsula, "La Manga" good.

The beach promenade looks pretty today, Friday from leave.

Already several Dattelalmen fill in ripe fruit.

Along the Salinas (Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro) an infinitely long causeway leads to the extreme tip to the narrow connection to the Mediterranean.

were transplanted here provides several hundred palm trees lined up in formation.
