XIX stay in southern Spain (with Elchi) Windsurfing at the Mar Menor
(E) (Saturday, 03/05/2011) Weather: nice to cloudy / Temp: 16 degrees /
Wind: 3 to 5 HE (NO) After yesterday's rainy day bloom campers today downright. Yesterday, two lightning must have struck straight into the campsite. Lightning and thunder bang practically coincided. There is much to tell.
For the next seven days predicted good surf wind. After Saturday's shopping in Cabo de Palos "we take a first appearances on the beach. Other surfers seem to have the same intention :-)
Francis and William are the two "guinea pigs" (guinea pig).
However, they are still on the road with great material.
We wait until the air temperature reaches the 15 degree mark. Shortly before one clock then also we are interfering with the surfing.
full three hours we spend on the "Mar Menor" and have a lot of fun.
windsurfing on Mar Menor (E) (Sunday, 06/03/2011) Weather: fine to cloudy / Temp: 16 degrees / Wind: 3 to 5 HE (NO) clock at ten we'll take Karen to the Sunday market for "Cabo de Palos. Not much activity and the natural park is still pretty empty.
Two hours later, the scenery looks already different from how the comparison photograph.
Karin and Anita do their errands and I'm watching, meanwhile, the attractive displays.
We meet in the end, as usual, in one of the four cafes in the courtyard.
As we face water is a clock our surfboards, we are with Karen but actually the first wind surfers and, despite blowing a great surf for hours with 3 to 4 wind HE. We are good with our 7.2 and 6.0 m2 sail on the go. The Pirate Bay, however we are not alone for long.
After two hours, marvelous surf pass, breaks my 'North' boom on the front piece in two, and this despite the fact that only two and a half years old!
Fortunately, I can surf the site is still intact boom to the shore. We are of the quality of this fork tree of "North" not enthusiastic, because the more "North" requires hefty prices. Already last August is the front piece of plastic lever lock in thousands of broken parts. Also solves the meantime the plastic coating on the inside seam from in several places from aluminum tube. The wind, meanwhile, has freshened up to 4 to 5 HE, so I now take the 6.0 m2 and can surf again one hours :-)
